Trauma Recovery Institute - Intensive Treatment Program (Louis W. Tinnin, MD)
This is a specialized treatment program for post-traumatic conditions, including DID and BPD, that is an alternative to inpatient treatment.
We offer a one week Intensive Individual Outpatient Program of 20 to 30 hours over four or five days designed to resolve post-traumatic stress disorder. For dissociative disorder the one-week module would need to be repeated once or twice, depending on the severity of the condition. The cost of the program averages $100.00 per hour. Pre-authorization is usually required by insurance companies to cover multiple sessions in a single day.
The treatment procedures include hypnosis for narrative processing of traumatic memories (without reliving the experiences), recursive video reviews (taped review of the verbal narrative), art therapy for graphic
narrative processing, and video dialogue for reintegration of traumatic dissociation. The hypnotic narrative processing is facilitated by non-invasive physiological monitoring of pulse and oxygen saturation.
People from out of town usually stay in either the Ramada Inn or the Comfort Inn at reduced rates, within walking distance of the Trauma Recovery Institute.
